Appendix 15.D – World Wide Military Locator Services

Purpose:

In order to locate an individual in the military, the case worker may need to send a request directly to the appropriate armed services branch as provided by the Department of Defense website1 . In order to expedite the locate process through the armed services, the case worker will provide as much information as possible which will include:

  • Full name, and

  • Social Security Number,

and may include

  • Rank,

  • Last duty assignment/last known military address, or

  • Service number.

Note: The request whether mailed or faxed will be on Wyoming CSE Program letterhead.

The World Wide Locator Service is another way to locate military personnel. Address information may be obtained by writing or faxing the World Wide Locator for the appropriate branch of service:
