Payment Information for Child Support Offices

The State Disbursement Unit (SDU) handles the following requests by contacting the appropriate staff listed.   

All requests must be made in writing except for IRS Questions.   

Requests made by telephone will not be processed.

Internal Revenue Service (IRS)

IRS Questions - Non-Emergency

  • Send individual fax and.or call Karen Crayk Darla Chandler, or Justina Seui
  • On the fax subject line, provide POSSE Case ID.
  • Provide the Payment ID.
  • Specify the information needed.
IRS Questions - Emergency Requests for Early Refunds
  • Send individual fax and call Sydney Ellis.
  • On the fax subject line, provide POSSE Case ID.
  • Provide the Payment ID.
  • Provide the reason for early release.
  • Provide the NCP’s address, where refunds are to be mailed.
Financial Issues
  • All requests must be made in writing

Payment Instructions

Month End - Single Case

251 Errors - Payment Back outs
  • If no warrant was issued on the payment needing backed out, send individual e-mails to Val Spencer or Denise Erikson.
  • If a warrant will need to be temporarily voided until the payment can be re-entered, send individual e-mails to Val Spencer.
  • Provide the Payment ID to be backed out.
  • Provide the reason for back out.
251 Errors – NCP NJDGMT Transactions caused balances to fall below zero
  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer.
  • On the e-mail subject line, provide only the POSSE Case ID.
  • Provide the error message and the Process Request ID that ended in error.

251 Errors – All Other

  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer.
  • Provide the error message and the Process Request ID that ended in error.

Requests to inactivate Financial Adjustments

  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer or Denise Erikson
  • Provide the type of adjustment to be inactivated.
  • Provide date and dollar amount of adjustment to be inactivated.

Redistribution Requests

  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer or  Denise Erikson
  • Provide the Payment ID to be backed out.
  • Provide the reason for back out.

Missing and Misapplied Payments

  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer
  • Provide a detailed description of the question or problem to be resolved.

Suspended Payments to be Released

  • Provide a detailed description of the question or problem to be resolved

Request to Suspend Payments

  • Provide a detailed description of the question or problem to be resolved.

DRA Fee Reversals

  • Provide a detailed description of the question or problem to be resolved.

Live Payment Transfers - 647

  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer or Denise Erikson
  • Provide a detailed description of the question or problem to be resolved.
  • Provide a completed 647 Live Payment Transfer Request form.

Payment History Requests

  • Send e-mails to Denise Erikson
  • E-mails can contain more than one payment history request.
  • Provide a completed Paycard Request Form.
  • Duplicate or incomplete requests will be returned uncompleted.
Note:  If there should be a pay record for 2/93 thru 1/96 but the State converted case number cannot be found after a diligent search, enter "****" in the Conv. Case # column on the Paycard Request Form.

Pre-EPICS AFDC Searches

  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer 
  • Provide the CP’s (Custodial Parent) name and Social Security number. 
  • Include all possible aliases.
  • Enter the names of all children included in household, not just the children on the case you are working but ALL children on ALL cases to which the CP is attached.
  • Enter the 1st date of AFDC assignment.
Note: Please be aware these requests take at least two weeks to complete, especially if it is necessary to search all the way back to 5/78.

SON Adjustment Corrections
  • Send individual e-mails to Denise Erikson
  • On the e-mail subject line, provide only the POSSE Case ID.
  • Provide the date and amount of the SON adjustment to be corrected.

Requests to mark case as Never Assign Arrears

  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer
  • Provide the reason for request.

 Docket ID Changes to "99" prefix

  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer or Denise Erikson.
  • If these requests can contain more than one case, list each case in the text of the e-mail message.

Requests to mark payment as Over-Disbursed

  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer.
  • Provide the Payment ID to be marked.

Abatements

If the SDU is completing the distribution on the POSSE case that you have an Abatement Credit for, please enter payment instructions:   
  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer 
  • Provide a detailed description.

Void Abatements

  • Send individual e-mails to Val Spencer
  • Provide an Abatement ID’s and amount to be voided.
  • Provide a detailed description of the question or problem to be resolved.
